PROJECT PIPELINE

InfraCo Asia signs New JIDAs

New projects include:

Indonesia: Archipelago Hybrid Solutions (AHS) – InfraCo Asia signed a JIDA with Sumberdaya Sewatama and Powersource Philippines to develop the AHS project. The project will bring to life a proof-of-concept hybrid solar and diesel plant, offering Indonesia’s national power corporation a stable and economically viable power source in remote, under-electrified, lower-income areas. This project is being undertaken with Infunde Development, Infraco Asia's exclusive developer for Southeast Asia (excluding Myanmar).

Vietnam: Ninh Tay Wind and Solar
InfraCo Asia and TSV have signed an agreement to develop a 50MW solar and 30MW wind renewable energy project developed at the same-site location, creating the first wind-solar co-located projects in Vietnam. These projects are being undertaken with Infunde Development.

The Ninh Tay Wind and Solar signing, with project partner TSV and Infunde Development, Infraco Asia's exclusive developer for Southeast Asia (ex. Myanmar)

Vietnam: Portfolio of Water Supply Projects
An agreement is in place with Singapore-listed Darco Water Technologies for development of a portfolio of four water-supply projects in Vietnam. These projects represent InfraCo Asia’s first foray into the water sector. The projects will have the capacity to treat and supply 23,000 cubic metres of water a day in the first phase, and an additional 25,000 cubic metres of water a day in the second phase.

OUR PEOPLE

Laxmi Devaindran (L) and Clarice Pereira (R) have joined the InfraCo Asia team.

InfraCo Asia Team Grows by 2

InfraCo Asia’s staff grew by two people in February 2018. We are very happy to welcome Laxmi Devaindran and Clarice Pereira to the InfraCo Asia team. Laxmi serves as InfraCo Asia’s Legal and Compliance Analyst, and Clarice has taken on the role of Finance and Administrative Assistant.

FROM THE CEO'S DESK

InfraCo Asia is heading into 2018 with significant momentum from the year prior: Among many other highlights, we had 16 new projects with JIDAs signed in countries including Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Myanmar, Pakistan, Philippines, and Sri Lanka; we received our first two industry awards; and most significantly, we demonstrated that we have a proven business model through the divestment of our shareholding in the Pakistan Gul Ahmed and Metro wind power projects.

Project stewardship and execution will play a significant role for our team in 2018. With a record number of projects under development across the South and South-East Asia region, you’ll find us on the ground, creating new local partnerships, and taking the steps needed to catalyse new private sector investment and bring assets into commercial operation.

Support and collaboration from our parent, the  Private Infrastructure Development Group (PIDG), is vital to continuing our positive trajectory.

Since 2002, PIDG has drawn from $2.4bn of funding and commitments to invest where the needs are the greatest, some of which InfraCo Asia has drawn on for its projects.

InfraCo Asia’s multifaceted measures of impact are on display on our new website, which launched in February 2018. Please visit, and enjoy viewing this new perspective on our business and stories.

I look forward to sharing more positive developments from InfraCo Asia’s business in 2018, along with the lessons learned along the way.
