Happy new year and welcome to Ausfilm's first e-news of 2019.

The Ausfilm team kicked off the year supporting the Australian Government's G'DAY USA program which celebrates Aussie & US trade and cultural partnerships.

Our creative and innovative VFX and post companies showcase their latest work and Ausfilm sits down with two of Australia's most outstanding and respected sound post-production specialists at Big Bang Sound Design.

In all the Oscar® buzz there's a few Australian wizards who've been nominated for a golden trophy this year: Fiona Crombie, Production Designer extraordinaire and Tony McNamara Screenwriter with a magic pen. The exceptional team at Method Studios under VFX Supervisor Glenn Melenhorst has also been nominated for a VES (Visual Effects Society) Award for Outstanding Visual Effects in a Photoreal Feature - Christopher Robin! Fingers and toes crossed!

The year started with a bang for the Australian screen community with a record-breaking line-up of Australian films at Sundance this year. Plus so much more.....

Happy reading our filmmaking friends.
