PIP survey: an opportunity to contribute to the Practice Incentives Program re-design
The Commonwealth Government announced in the 2016-17 Federal Budget that it was overhauling the Practice Incentives Program through its ‘Quality Improvement in General Practice – Simplification of the PIP’ measure. Earlier this month, the Commonwealth Government released
a consultation paper seeking stakeholder views on how a re-designed PIP might foster quality improvement and innovation in general practice. Although the consultation timeline is tight, we would like to know your views on how the PIP could be improved. The survey consists of 17 questions, largely multiple choice and should take no more than ten minutes to complete. The survey will close 9 am Monday 28 November to give us time to collate and draft a contribution before 30
November. Alternatively you can contribute directly, see page 19 of the consultation paper. Click here to complete the survey.

Drug and Alcohol Youth Treatment Services - needs analysis survey
The NSW Government has increased funding by $75 million over four years to tackle alcohol and other drug misuse in NSW communities. The new investment focuses on supporting more young people, more people entering into treatment, and more families. A key component of this package is $24 million over four years to help more young people. Of this $24 million to help young people, $16 million over four years has been allocated to expanding access to youth detox and treatment services. In addition the investment will include enhancements to medical workforce capacity. The Ministry has developed a short survey to assist in development of youth detox and treatment services. The survey asks staff for their opinions on
effective models of drug and alcohol service provision for young people in NSW, service gaps, priorities for under-served youth populations and how these should best be addressed. Click here
to take the survey. Should you wish to discuss this information or seek further details, the appropriate contact in the NSW Ministry of Health is Ms Laila Matar, Policy Officer, Alcohol and Other Drugs, phone 9391 9377.
