From March 19 through March 23, students have the opportunity to show their school spirit for UDA by sporting the themed clothing described below. The percentage of students participating in each class will be tallied daily, and a banner in the Hive will display the results for each class. The K-5 class and middle school class with the highest percentage of participation for the week will win a free dress day! Monday - Twins Day Tuesday - Hat Day Wednesday - Color Day Friday - Spring Photo Day Lost and FoundThe Lost and Found is overflowing with misplaced hoodies, sweaters, jackets, water bottles, and lunch boxes. Please stop by the Hive to claim your belongings. All unclaimed items will be donated to a local charity on the morning of Wednesday, March 21. Second & Seventh GradeIn the spirit of St. Patrick’s Day, students in 7A are collaborating with second graders in Ms. Niesen’s class to design and build leprechaun traps. The students read the book, “How to Trap a Leprechaun,” and are utilizing their science, technology, engineering, and math skills in the creation of their traps. Third GradeThird graders partnered with UCSD Global T.I.E.S. engineering students to hold an Intro to Computer Science Hackathon! Students learned commands to "code" their friends and tinkered with coding their favorite Star Wars characters. Eighth GradeRae Cote from Eurofins recently visited UDA to speak with the 8th grade students about her job as a bio/chemist working with GMO and Non-GMOs. The 8th graders learned a lot from their guest and are grateful that she was able to join them all the way from New Orleans! Visual ArtsStudents in grades 1, 4, and 6 are exploring art illustration in Visual Arts with Ms. Jelena. The examples above are just a few of the creations made by our 4th grade artists. A Message from Network ParentsEarth Day Special event t-shirts featuring the Dymaxion Map will be available for $15 each. Students who wear their Earth Day or March for Science t-shirts to the UDA Earth Day event will receive 2 free tickets. Admission is free, however, some games and snacks will require tickets ($1 per ticket). Coffee Talk Fridays Used Uniform Donations Middle School Skate Night Top Notch LunchesTo order a hot lunch for your child, first create an account with Top Notch. User accounts from last year do not carry over, so all parents must register for the 2017-2018 year. To register, click on “Order Online Today” from the homepage, then select “Register.” On this page, you will need to enter the password for UDA, which is URA6. Upon entering the password, you will be able to complete the registration process by creating your own username and password. Families that meet the free or reduced qualification according to this form will receive discounted Top Notch lunches. The discount will be automatically applied to each order. Online orders must be placed by 6pm on the day before the lunch delivery. Top Notch can not supply lunches requested after this deadline.
