MESSAGES

A WORD FROM JASON REDMAN

I'd like to pass on my condolences to Rik Wittkopp  and Anthony Vance for the passing of their individual fathers and our hearts go out to them.

I would like to congratulate Mark Vegners and Glen Pears for stepping up and assisting in the areas they are required. They have worked tirelessly and delivered excellent results. It is a great feeling going around to the individual jobs and seeing excellent work. I would also like to thank the Reds Global rigging crew for their dedication and commitment. Congratulations on great efforts on critical works at Bellview Hill, Opal,  Bondi and Lewisham!

I would like to make everybody aware that the ongoing support for safety and individuals health are vitally important to the outcome of our business. I implore each of you to make sure you take on regular accountability to do with checking all gear and communicating effectively with the clients and all interested parties on the job. It is of vital importance to our company, our families and ones personal self that you adopt and adhere to safety practices. 50% of people in the construction industry find it acceptable to be potentially injured in the course of their work. This is not acceptable, nor is it reasonable to think in this fashion. We have to at all times think about positive measures. Ensure that proper documentation is filled out on a daily basis. Check your crane, bolts, hoisting ropes, trolley ropes, etc daily. Ensure above all else that your fellow work mate is ok, that you are ok, and that you come home safely each day.

We are getting excited about Christmas, it seems to be coming up quickly! Save the date for the Reds Global Christmas Party on the 11th December. We are will be hosting the Christmas Party at our Somersby yard once again. Trinity has been kind enough to put ideas for the Christmas Party to the team, please click through to the survey at the end of this newsletter to contribute your suggestions!

MESSAGES

A WORD FROM DAVE BROWN

Welcome to our June/July newsletter.

We trust you are all well and enjoying the cooler weather.
Over the past few days we have had the opportunity to meet quite a few people that have applied for positions within Reds Global. It has been an exciting experience for me personally and for Reds Global. Five items have become very apparent during this process of interview and I would like to share them with you. Many of these persons that were interviewed were dynamic in their own way, although some lacked drive and commitment. We found that to be successful, you must be a little different, a little more focussed and need to understand the “big picture."

1. BECOME SALES PEOPLE
Sell yourself and our business to our clients and to their suppliers.
Engage yourselves and those around you.

2. STEP UP AND MEET DEMAND
Every project is extremely busy, the crane crew as we all know are some of the busiest personal on site and lets face it, we can’t keep everyone happy all the time.
Although guys, you have an opportunity daily to meet the demand of our clients, this is imperative to your success and to the success of Reds Global.

3. BE PROJECT ORIENTATED
Be engaged with our clients and learn about the project you are working on and the personnel you are working with.
Become more personable with those around you.
It will make a huge difference to your work and the differing trades working with you.

4. SHOW LEADERSHIP
Demonstrate yourselves as leaders.
Expand your contact base on site and read the decks and the project.
Show our clients why Reds Global are the First Choice in Materials Handling.

5. AND IMPORTANTLY, BE PRO-ACTIVE
Continue to be the performers that we believe in, that we employ, that you work with as part of your crane crew.
You can make a change and remember to always think ahead, work smart, work safe.

We believe in you, we believe in our team and our crews working on site.
We are always asking you to give that little bit more, give that extra 10%. Guys it does make a difference.
It is why Reds Global are the first choice in materials handling.

Thank you and enjoy your day.

Dave

RECENT WORKS

GREENLAND
Reds Global undertook a unique install in the city in June. A CDK recovery crane was installed on a building on the corner of Pitt and Bathurst Streets on the Greenland project for Delta. This was a new and exciting challenge for Reds Global which was completed with great success thanks to the dedication and professionalism of our team.

SOPA TC4
A CTL 340-24 was installed at the Mertion Sydney Olympic Park project, being TC4. Advanced Ascerol anti collision systems have been fitted on these cranes by our service technicians to ensure safe and efficient operation.

LEWISHAM TC02
TC02 was dismantled at Lewisham last weekend. This is the last crane to be dismantled on this project, congratulations to all involved for starting strong and finishing strong.

BELLEVIEW HILL
A CTT561 was installed at the Richard Crookes project in Belleview Hill. This is an exciting project for Reds Global to be a part of and we are looking forward to seeing excellent results on site.

OPAL
A CTL 430 was installed at the Icon project in Homebush. This is one of our new cranes and a delegate from Terex came from Italy to assist with the commissioning.

BONDI
The CTL 180 was dismantled from the Richard Crookes site in Bondi. This crane has been on the project since March 2015 and has contributed to a very successful build.

Check out the photos from these projects by visiting the Reds Global Facebook Page at the button below.

TEAM OF THE MONTH

THE CONSULTATIVE COMMITTEE

Mr Dinko Birkic
Mr Shane Callaghan
Mr Glen Pears
Mr Simon Beashel

These guys have worked tirelessly to deliver items raised, negotiated and highlighted to the management of Reds Global. They have worked as a collective group, during work hours and well into their own time to listen to and extend their leadership to every one of our fantastic employees. On a regular basis these guys meet with management and site crews and give up their own time, time that would be spent with family and friends. We applaud these guys for their efforts and we hope that you take the time to thank them for their continued support to Reds Global.

Enjoy your Gold Class movie vouchers guys, and thank you again for your dedication to our team!

The machine has a max lift of 2.5t, with 1.3t capacity at full extension of 17.9m.  Keep an eye out for the Reds Global franna in the Somersby yard and on various sites assisting with critical works.

SAFETY MESSAGE

SAFETY IS PRODUCTIVITY

One of our biggest safety challenges onsite is our relationship and understanding of other work groups.

It is obvious that the crane is the most noticeable object whilst the building is under construction, and as such all activities undertaken by the crane are more noticeable and more dangerous in nature than other trades activities.

With this comes great responsibility.

Please ensure that as a crew you take responsibility for the crane and all activities that occur in and around its radius. Make sure that other trades are aware of loads being lifted overhead and that they are clear as loads are landed.

Ensure that communication in the form of a Toolbox and a Risk Assessment are completed when other cranes and plant such as concrete booms are present. This is our responsibility and should be undertaken with all members of the tower crane crew and the crew of the other plant onsite.
