All reviews should be held between 1 July and 31 October. Since January we have been consulting with staff, Heads of Department and trade union colleagues about the process, which has resulted in updated forms and guidance for staff to use in their 2018 reviews.
Development and assessment centre for grades 7 and 8, October 2018We are now taking applications from staff in grades 7 and 8 for places on our next development and assessment centre (DAC), which will run on 16-17 October. Our DACs involve a range of exercises designed to assess your capability in a number of areas. They support career development by improving awareness of your strengths, preferences and development areas. Interested staff must have the agreement of both their line manager and head of department that it is a suitable opportunity for them before applying. The deadline for applications is midday on Friday 27 July.
Professional@York eventsProfessional@York are delivering two events in July. The first event, on 4 July, is the Professional@York forum on Health, Wellbeing and Resilience. This event will have a keynote by Vanessa King from Action for Happiness. Following the forum, we are running an In a Nutshell session on the same subject on 25 July.
Career progression for women at York: ideas soughtThe University was founded on the principles of excellence, equality and opportunity for all. However, our recent gender pay gap report reminds us that we still have a low number of women in more senior roles. Addressing this gap is a strategic priority for the University. We want ideas and input from all staff groups to help shape our plans, and invite you to contribute through ideas sessions that will run in July and August.
Apply now for Leading without a teamTypical applicants will be responsible for the delivery of strategic/cross University projects, without line management responsibilities. The programme is spread over five modules taking six days, plus coaching sessions between modules. Applications close midday on Friday 27 July. |
