SOA PROFESSOR JUHONG PARK PRESENTS A LECTURE ON BUILDING TECHNOLOGY
On Wednesday, April 2, Assistant Professor Juhong Park will present a lecture on Design | Machine | Learning.  Here at SOA he teaches Architecture and Urbanism: Building Technology.  He is currently a Ph.D. candidate in Design and Computation at the School of Architecture, MIT and received his Master’s degree in Architecture from the Harvard University Graduate School of Design. Glasgow Hall, 6:00 p.m.

ANNUAL CAREER FAIR INTRODUCES STUDENTS TO MEMBERS OF VARIOUS FIRMS
This Thursday, April 3, the School of Architecture invites its students to the Annual Career Fair where they will have an opportunity to meet with representatives of various architecture firms from all over the US. For more information, contact Julia Pizarro at jpizarro@miami.edu. Firms will schedule individual interviews throughout SOA on Friday April 4. Bank United Center, Hurricane 100 Room, 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. 

PROFESSOR PARK CONDUCTS WORKSHOP THIS SATURDAY

OREGON’S ZGF ARCHITECTS OFFERS $10,000 SCHOLARSHIP
ZGF is a nationally recognized architecture, planning, and interior design firm with a long commitment to architectural education.  The Zimmer Gunsul Frasca Architectural Scholarship Fund of The Oregon Community Foundation is intended to foster students who have demonstrated a talent for architecture. The amount of $10,000 will be awarded to one scholarship recipient; a currently enrolled student entering their final year in a graduate or undergraduate level architecture program in the fall of 2014.  In addition to the financial award, a summer 2014 internship in one of the firm’s office locations will be offered to the scholarship recipient.  The deadline is May 1, 2014 with the recipient selected no later than June 1, 2014.  Funds will be awarded in September. 


April 9 Intern Development Program (IDP) Presentation and Lunch, sponsored by the AIAS. IDP identifies the required comprehensive experience that is essential for the independent practice of architecture and licensure. Kimberly Tuttle, AIA from NCARB and Professor Allan Shulman will speak on the 9th. April 8, 9 and 10  “URBAN MORPHOLOGY AND DESIGN: ROME IN MIAMI” – a three-part international seminar co-hosted by the University of Miami and  Sapienza University of  Rome will take place on campus next week.   
Tuesday, April 8 Urban Morphology: Methods for Urban Design, a lecture by Giuseppe Strappa (Professor “Sapienza”, University of Rome). Architecture Library at 9:30 a.m.
Wednesday, April 9 Italian School of Typology and Morphology, Saverio Muratori and Gianfranco Caniggia, a lecture by Alessandro Camiz, (Post-doctorate, “Sapienza”, University of Rome, and Adjunct Faculty and Visiting Lecturer, University of Miami). Glasgow Lecture Hall, 6:00 p.m.
Thursday, April 10 Urban Form: Settlement and Process, N.Y., Boston and Philadelphia, a lecture by Paolo Carlotti (Researcher “Sapienza”, University of Rome). Architecture Library at 9:30 a.m.
