Mautohe Cathedral Cove - Access Charging Last week the Government announced the introduction of a visitor fee to access popular sites so everyone can continue to enjoy world-class experiences in nature while contributing to long-term protection. Mautohe Cathedral Cove was identified as one of 4 sites to be investigated. - This visitor fee would be for international visitors - Consulation with communities and businesses will occur at a later date - Access charges will be in place by summer 2027 at the earliest Find out more here GOOD FOR YOUR SOUL – KaitiakiAlready, the tourism industry, local businesses and visitors from all around the world have made contributions that will last a lifetime. The first season delivered over 1000 donations for plantings at visitor sites plus support for predator control in Hauraki Coromandel. Check out supporting businesses and donations from all around the world. There will be a planting day at Mautohe Cathedral Cove with tourism businesses and locals invited to support the efforts of Department of Conservation, Ngāti Hei and surrounding communities.
