Hauraki Coromandel Tourism Sector Update

The upcoming sector update will include essential marketing tips from Michelle Caldwell of Destinate NZ. Michelle has a wealth of experience and networks in tourism having delivered results for an awesome range of tourism businesses.

Destinate NZ specialise in International Sales Training, a key focus for many local businesses looking to increase their market share from inbound trade.

When: Friday 29th August

Time: 1pm - 4.00pm

Where: Grand Mercure Puka Park, Pāuanui

Congratulations Hot Water Beach Top 10 Holiday Park

Another epic result for Hot Water Beach Top 10 Holiday Park who WON the Park Development Award at the Holiday Parks New Zealand (HPNZ) Awards Night. This award recognised the investment of a major development within the park grounds that significantly contributes to the enjoyment and overall satisfaction of guests.

Mautohe Cathedral Cove - Access Charging 

Last week the Government announced the introduction of a visitor fee to access popular sites so everyone can continue to enjoy world-class experiences in nature while contributing to long-term protection. Mautohe Cathedral Cove was identified as one of 4 sites to be investigated.

-              This visitor fee would be for international visitors

-              Consulation with communities and businesses will occur at a later date

-              Access charges will be in place by summer 2027 at the earliest

GOOD FOR YOUR SOUL – Kaitiaki

Already, the tourism industry, local businesses and visitors from all around the world have made contributions that will last a lifetime. The first season delivered over 1000 donations for plantings at visitor sites plus support for predator control in Hauraki Coromandel. Check out supporting businesses and donations from all around the world.  

There will be a planting day at Mautohe Cathedral Cove with tourism businesses and locals invited to support the efforts of Department of Conservation, Ngāti Hei and surrounding communities.
