FMA Open House Reception

5:30 pm, January 31, 2018
You are invited to join the members of the Florida Magazine Association as we usher in a new year and get to know our fellow peers and colleagues better! Current and prospective members are welcome to attend and are encouraged to bring a friend. Open House begins at 5:30 pm and there is no cost to attend. Complimentary appetizers provided! Mark your calendar - the Charlie Awards open February 26! Reward your team and showcase your magazine’s best work by entering this year's contest. All entries must be submitted by 11:59 pm on Monday, April 9, 2018. Please note that this deadline is firm and will not be extended this year. Additional information will be available in the coming weeks.

Reminder: Your magazine is not eligible to participate in the Charlie Awards if dues have not been received by February 19, 2018.

The FMA management offices have moved to 1025 Greenwood Blvd, Suite 191, Lake Mary, FL 32746. The new office is conveniently located close to Interstate 4 and less than a mile from the old office. Please update your records to reflect this change.

Q&A with the 2017 Doug Damerst Scholarship Recipient, Cecilia Mazanec

The Florida Magazine Association honors the life and career of Doug Damerst by awarding a $1,000 cash prize to an exceptional student majoring in the field of the journalism/communications. Cecilia Mazanec, the 2017 Doug Damerst Scholarship recipient, discusses what inspires her to be a journalist and how she hopes to carry on Damerst’s trademark high-level journalism and ethics. Jacki Levine Named Editor of FORUM Magazine

Jacki Levine, founding editor of Gainesville Magazine, is the new editor of FORUM Magazine, the publication of the nonprofit Florida Humanities Council. The FHC is dedicated to celebrating the culture, history, literature and sense of place that is Florida.
