1. Records Management Network: last meeting for the year!

2. Content Manager users: November system upgrade

A system upgrade for Content Manager is currently slated for late November. The shift from version 9.1 to 9.2 will bring slight variations but the overall way of navigating the system will remain the same.

Further information will be circulated closer to the time but if you have any questions please feel free to get in touch.

3. Upcoming training: Content Manager Power Users

Content Manager Power User training is designed for Content Manager users who want to get a bit more out of the system. The 2 hour session offers hands-on lab based training and will cover the Enterprise Classification Scheme (ECS), creating Virtual Folders, closing a folder, creating a folder part, applying Security and Access, and printing Folder Reports in Content Manager. There will also be plenty of time to answer any burning questions you may have!

Next session: Monday 22nd October, 10am-12pm

5. Did you know...?ServiceNow enquiries

When you email us a ticket is created in ServiceNow, allowing us to more effectively and transparently manage your enquiry or action. However, if you are emailing an individual and only "cc:" records-services, a ticket is not automatically  created and there will be a delay in our response to you while we locate the email in our shared mailbox. Please forward the email to us separately to ensure the matter is seen in good time.

Additionally, when a ticket is closed, there is no need to reply to the completion notification unless further action is required - it just means the staff member has to take the time to close it again.

5. From the Knowledge Base Library: DIY troubleshooting

If you come across an error in Content Manager, why not check the Knowledge Base Library to see if it's a known issue, and find a quick solution!

  • Content Manager - Cannot log in
  • Content Manager - Error when checking in MS Office files from OneDrive into Content Manager
  • Content Manager - Issue - Microsoft Outlook - Linked Folders not working

6. Meet your Records team! Introducing: Lesley Williams

Many of you may know Lesley, as she has been a staple of University records management for a number of years now!

From the Baillieu Library to Central Records to present-day Records Services, Lesley likely knows more than the rest of us combined about University events and changes. She's got degrees in Urban Studies and Archives & Records Management, and beyond the office is a keen swing-dancer and songstress.

Ask her about: uni life in the '90s, records access management, and vintage music of the Jazz Age!

7. Records Online Project Update

The Records Online Project team are continuing to run Skype sessions so you can learn more about Records-managed SharePoint from the convenience of your own desk.

A new offering is the SharePoint Site Owner getting started session. This covers the main 5 tasks you would carry out as a Site Owner allowing you to improve your site functionality.
