Sun Grows Jobs in GeorgiaThe sun continues to grow jobs in Georgia via the solar industry. Newly released data from the Solar Foundation shows Georgia now ranks 15th nationwide in solar energy generation, with a total of 4,310 jobs. The state solar job growth stood at 10 percent, continuing a three-year streak. Metro Atlanta added 500 new jobs in the solar industry in 2017, despite a nationwide tank in the solar market fueled by low sales and anxiety related to a trade dispute involving Chinese products. Green Communities SpotlightMeasure #16: Government Renewable Energy The City of Woodstock has installed 6.8 KW solar panel modules on the Chambers at City Center. Inside the building, an education nook has displays explaining the process and benefits of solar power. In addition, monitors provide real-time numbers on kWh capture and carbon dioxide equivalency emissions that the solar panels have prevented.
