The road will close for one week after Labour Day to allow construction. The project will deliver a safer two-lane bridge and a slow-traffic passing bay on the southern approach, ready well before the busy summer holiday season. Find out more DHC and NZTA will be sharing the following message, and encourage you to share the same: A section of SH25 between Te Mata and Waikawau will be closed for 7 days, but it’s business as usual across the rest of Hauraki Coromandel. You can still reach all our destinations; it may just take a little extra time. ✅ For travel north to Coromandel Town, Colville and beyond: use SH25A over the Kopu-Hikuai, then continue via Tairua and Whitianga.
