First Look: EIZO Introduces New Rugged H.265 Video Encoder

EIZO Rugged Solutions Inc. has announced the Tyton VS2X – a powerful SWaP-efficient box-level H.265 (HEVC) / H.264 video encoding and streaming solution with four 3G-SDI, HD-SDI, SDI or composite TV channels.

The 1.25 kg Tyton VS2X line-replaceable unit (LRU) is fully ruggedised to resist shock, vibration, humidity and dust as well as operate at temperatures from -40°C to 85°C.

It complies with MIL-STD-810F, MIL-STD-461F, DO-160, and IP67 standards and is operating system-independent, hardware agnostic, stand-alone, and highly efficient with low power consumption (15W maximum).

Ethernet over Fibre: Rugged Mini PCIe Expansion Module

Ethernet over fibre offers an extremely dependable, highly secure Ethernet connection that operates over a much longer distance than copper.

The rugged E4 module from VersaLogic provides a standardised way to add a bi-directional gigabit channel of Ethernet over fibre to an embedded computing solution.

The E4 can transmit and receive data up to 550 metres.

Secure Boot: Prevent Inauthentic Code from Executing

Secure critical systems and ensure only trusted, authentic code is being executed by utilising secure boot software - a subset of the NXP Trust Architecture.

Video: SMART Package Manager on Xilinx Zynq

This tutorial shows how to use SMART Package Manager on DAVE Embedded Systems' BORA System On Module solutions, based on Xilinx Zynq SoC.

With this tool, provided by the Yocto project, it is possible to update and integrate the RFS just by a command line process, thanks to the pre-built packages provided by DAVE on its servers.

The 2017 Cyber Security Summit & Expo marks the one year anniversary of the Government’s National Cyber Security Strategy and the commitment to invest £1.9 billion in ‘defending our systems and infrastructure, deterring our adversaries, and developing a whole-society capability’.

Sarsen and BittWare will be at the event on 16th November, where we will be showcasing some of the worlds highest-performance cyber security computing hardware based on FPGA technology from Intel (Altera) and Xilinx, supported by a number of software options.
