JULY - REMEMBERING HISTORY

July in Utah is a fun-filled month of fireworks and celebration of our history as a state and a nation. Pioneer day and the Fourth all pay homage to our ancestors who sacrificed so we could live the lives we do today.

As one of the hottest months of the year, it's time to find the best pools and lakes to cool off with family and friends. This email includes some favorite places to get in the water and get out on one of your days off, as well as great places to view fireworks with your friends and family.

The real estate market in Salt Lake is still very active, with new homes coming up in all price points.  If you are interesting in buying or selling, please reach out and we can schedule an appointment to put you on the path towards your dream home.

I wish you a month of happiness and celebration!

SWIMMING IN UTAH

Image via wanderookie.com

These swimming holes are a bit off the beaten path, but offer a unique outdoor experience that you are sure to enjoy.

1. Fifth Water Hot Springs: These natural hot springs are located in Diamond Fork Canyon. To get to the springs, you'll have to hike about 2.5 miles one way. The water is crystal clear and the springs are fed by a beautiful waterfall.

2. Mona Rope Swing: You can find the Mona rope swing at Mona ponds, about 30 minutes south of Provo. The pond is a bit off the beaten path, but the rope swings are worth the trip. There are huge trees to shade the pond and lots of more shallow areas for the kids.

3. Indian Baths: There is a 2 foot deep pool located at the bottom of a little cascade along the Davis Creek Trail. You have to use some ropes and climb a bit, so it may not be a kid friendly destination. After the baths, you can keep hiking to visit another waterfall.

4.  Wall Lake: Wall lake is a cold alpine lake in the Uinta mountains. It's a small lake, so it feels like more of a swimming hole, but there are lots of rocks and cliffs to jump from.

5. Meadow Hot Springs: Meadow is a small town four miles south of Fillmore along I-15. The remote Meadow Hot Springs are on private property, but the owner has continued to make them accessible to the public.

PIONEER DAY FIREWORKS

Are you looking for the best place to view fireworks on Pioneer day? Here are a few of the best local shows to take your family to!

1. Liberty Park: FREE fireworks show in celebration of Utah's Pioneer Day! Fireworks start at 10pm and are launched from Herman Franks Park by Lantis Fireworks & Lasers. Find a spot to relax and watch the show in Liberty Park and enjoy the Native American Celebration in the Park Powwow festivities all day!

You can get more information here.

2. Heber Valley: Head to Heber to enjoy dinner, fiddlers, and lots of fireworks on the 24th!  A train will take you to the shores of Deer Creek Reservoir to watch the fireworks and bring you back to the depot.

For more information, click here.

3. Orem: Bring your lawn chairs, blankets and come celebrate Pioneer day at the orchard. Festivities include games, contests and a live band performance by Utah’s own The Salamanders! To finish off the activities there will be a choreographed firework show.
