Tropical Botanica
|
|
To celebrate the start of summer in all its colourful glory, Daphne's
has collaborated with Charlotte Olympia and Veuve Clicquot to create a ‘Tropical Botanica’ installation which includes floral displays, bespoke Veuve Clicquot RICH and Rosé Champagne cocktails and a capsule collection of statement heels. Neighbouring Daphne's and Charlotte Olympia are located on Draycott Avenue in Chelsea and both house a botanical installation with both windows featuring a floral feast in tropical colours - all curated by Charlotte Olympia. To mark the occasion and inspired by the botanical theme, Daphne’s has created a special Charlotte Olympia Champagne cocktail menu made with Veuve Clicquot RICH; RICH is a Champagne to be drunk over ice with a twist of a fresh ingredient. The Charlotte Olympia Tropical Botanica menu will be available at Daphne's until Friday, 24 June.

GIN, GIN, GIN! |
|
And now for another drinks story... but with good reason! We felt that Rivington Shoreditch deserved a mention because they’re edging towards 220 listed brands on their gin menu. With World Gin Day creeping up on 11 June, our abundance is definitely something to shout about, not to mention the £5 Gin & Tonics (listing a new gin every fortnight), which are available from 5pm to 7pm, Monday to Sunday.

The Mount Street Deli now provides a full supper party service. For the grand total of £125 for 6 people (that’s just about £21 per person), you get a dinner party dish from The Ivy, J Sheekey, Le Caprice etc, plus 2 side salads which very happily double up as starters and a mouth-watering pudding, all to enjoy at home. AND, the deli does a good selection of wine if your own stocks are a little depleted.

Recipe of the Month |
Breakfast at The Ivy is in full flow – having been up and running for a month now. A few “heroes” have emerged from the feedback we’ve had and the most surprising “hit” has been Bar Manager, Darren’s “Morning Tonic”. Lemon, cayenne, turmeric, cider vinegar, sparkling water and with or without agave (depending on how much of a hard core healthista you are!) is refreshing, delicious and different.
