It Stops Here: Safer Pathway The Domestic Violence Safety Assessment Tool (DVSAT), used by police and other agencies, identifies the level of domestic violence threat to victims. Those victims at serious threat are referred to a Local Coordination Point who provide victims with case coordination. Local Coordination Points also coordinate the Safety Action Meetings. Safety Action Meetings (SAMs) are fortnightly meetings of local service providers, in which members exchange relevant information and develop plans to increase the safety of victims and their children. The principle behind the Safety Action Meeting is that formalised, cooperative action and information sharing between service providers supports better outcomes for the safety of victims, their children and closer monitoring of perpetrator behaviour. For further information view Safety Action Meeting Manual and Domestic Violence Information Sharing Protocol which outlines procedures and further detail. GPs can refer patients directly to the SAM by contacting the Local Coordination Points, (hosted by the Women’s Domestic Violence Court Advocacy Services). A DVSTAT form needs to be completed for referral. Local Coordination Point contacts:
