Minecraft| Tourism New Zealand's Latest Global Campaign

Come Play For Real

With over 170 million Minecraft players per month globally, and a reach of 70 million through Tourism New Zealand's audience across key markets, the release of a New Zealand world in Minecraft presents a significant opportunity to showcase the country to the world. This marks the first time a Destination Management Organisation has partnered with Minecraft, Mojang & Warner Bros, and the launch will coincide with the release of the Minecraft movie which was also filmed in New Zealand.

While Hauraki Coromandel was not selected as one of the six playable downloadable content (DLC) worlds, the region features in content promoting Tourism New Zealand’s Minecraft partnership which will be featured globally to promote the game.

We've created a space where the world can come play for real in Hauraki Coromandel and will actively leverage this campaign to showcase the region across our owned and paid channels.

You Too Can Get Involved

There are multiple ways for you to engage with the campaign across social media:

  1. Share both Destination Hauraki Coromandel and Tourism New Zealand's social posts
  2. Take part in the online conversations via social tags:
    #NZMinecraftDLC   #NZMinecraft   #MinecraftMovie
  3. Use the Minecraft GIPHY stickers
  4. Create your own social posts and integrate the GIPHY stickers

To integrate the Minecraft campaign into your own marketing, boosting tourism and creating memorable and immersive experiences for visitors, Tourism New Zealand have designed a toolkit to help all industry partners and this is now available to download from the visual library here.

Destination Hauraki Coromandel encourages you to be part of this exciting campaign and seize the opportunity to help showcase our incredible region. Get involved and help us share the magic of Hauraki Coromandel with the world!
