We are building a new kind of iGEM and recruiting passionate iGEMers to create it with us. Join the team as tech staff, interns, and volunteers. Paid and volunteering positions are available. We are looking for motivated, enthusiastic people who want to make iGEM better. We strongly believe in hiring the right person, rather than the right combination of tech buzzwords, and all these positions include opportunities for you to learn as you go. In March 2020, we anticipated the changes our community needed - we hired a Director of Videos & Technology at iGEM HQ, and created the Video & Remote Technology (VRT) Committee. In 2021, we are expanding this initiative, and bringing in more people to improve it.
Creative Production in iGEM is the intersection of design, technology, and production. It thrives in the balance between worlds of art and technology - to imagine and build an innovative Jamboree experience. You will have a chance to work in a team of iGEMers from all around the world, get behind the scenes look at iGEM while creating the visual identity behind our content, building the software and hardware infrastructure behind the experience, and producing exciting iGEM content through videos and events.

What will the Design & Tech Team work on?
Web Developer
Redesigning parts of the iGEM Websites, navigation, building and maintaining new dynamic pages, and creating new functionalities.
Web/Graphic Designer
Designing web pages and promotional material, supporting After iGEM, iGEM EPIC, new iGEM programs, and events with design.
Event Manager
Planning, logistics, and management of iGEM Events: Workshops, Opening Weekend Festival, Global Meetup, Giant Jamboree, and other smaller events.
Backend Developer
Creating new software infrastructure, developing event technology, supporting other software-related projects from iGEM Programs.
Video Editor
Editing of all iGEM video materials, Creating educational videos with iGEM committees, video design of events, creating promotional videos, and supporting teams with advice.
Media Consultant
(Volunteer in China)
Consult on availability of event technology, media, streaming, new platforms in China. Working closely with the team to assure good delivery of our content.
