Teachers attended a staff meeting, Junior Cycle training day, and held very successful meetings with parents of pupils in Forms 5 and 1. Pupils in Forms 3 and 6 completed their mock Music Practical and Modern Languages Oral examinations, respectively. The Leaving Certificate Irish Oral examinations were completed last week and a number of pupils in Form 6 are currently working on portfolios for admission to third level Art courses. We should like to thank pupils, teachers, and parents for their hard work and commitment in maintaining the highest standards of teaching and learning in challenging times. Dublin City Interfaith ForumLast month Form 6 pupils studying Religious Education were fortunate enough to have an interview with the Dublin City Interfaith Forum. There were representatives from Zen Buddhism, Sikhism, Judaism, Christianity, Baha’i, Islam, and Hinduism. It began with the members of each faith introducing both themselves and the basic principles of their religion. Then we asked them a series of questions relating to our course and our individual RE projects. They all answered us with enthusiasm and provided us with some excellent information. This was a great opportunity for us. I would like to thank Imam Arslaan Khan, Dr Jasbir Singh Puri, Swami Purnananda Puri, Hilary Abrahamson, Myozan Kodo,
Ms Sheena Odongo, and Michael O’Sullivan for giving us their time and for taking our questions so seriously. It was incredibly helpful! Senior DramaThis year pupils participating in Senior Drama are writing a series of one act plays with some very creative results. The pupils rehearse in small groups of six people. At the moment we are focusing on script writing and are planning to put on a performance for a small audience towards the end of the year. If this is not possible, we will perform the plays on film and produce a high quality digital show. That is something that we can all look forward to! Form 4 WoodworkPupils in Form 4 who study Woodwork spent much of the Autumn Term designing and completing these beautiful wooden lamps. Taking the form of either a dog Junior Science3D pH scale by Pearl Sweetman Form 2 pupils created some very colourful pH scales during Science class last week. They learned that the pH scale is used to measure the acidity or basicity of an aqueous solution. Pupils worked at home, reseaching and completing the task with their teacher's guidance. As you can see the results are quite impressive. Form 2 Technical GraphicsForm 2 pupils studying Technical Graphics have been busy creating these interesting projects on the topic of developments by folding 2D planes to make For the Love of BooksPupils throughout the school are continuing their much-loved Library classes while at home.
