EOI: Directors of the Board of EIS Health Limited EIS Health is seeking expressions of interest for four elected director positions on our Board of Directors. The EOI has a closing date of 15 October 2019. CESPHN now provides remote support with Team Viewer CESPHN is pleased to announce that, effective immediately, we are now extending our Digital Health and Practice Support services by incorporating Team Viewer. Team Viewer is a widely used, remote support technology that will allow us to provide real-time support to help your practice to troubleshoot and solve digital health and practice support issues. This function also supports our ability to train new applications to all practice staff from a distance. Many IT support companies use Team Viewer as part of their helpdesk function so you may already have the
application installed in your system. ACI Webinar on the Health/NDIS interface The NSW Agency for Clinical Innovation’s Intellectual Disability and Rehabilitation Networks are hosting a webinar in November focused on health supports and the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). Community Diabetes Education – Greek Diabetes NSW will run a FREE Greek education program for people at risk of or diagnosed with type 2 diabetes (and are not using insulin). This program will increase participants’ knowledge and confidence in managing diabetes. Community Diabetes Education – Cantonese Diabetes NSW will run a FREE Cantonese education program for people at risk of or diagnosed with type 2 diabetes (and are not using insulin). This program will increase participants’ knowledge and confidence in managing diabetes. BreastScreen mobile van at Roselands until 4 October 2019 In Sydney Local Health District there are 423 projected cases of breast cancer in 2019. Breast screening participation in Canterbury-Bankstown LGA is 46.3 per cent in comparison to 53 per cent in NSW. The BreastScreen mobile van is currently at Roselands (Lantern Club car park, entry via Roselands Drive) until 4 October 2019. Operating hours are Monday - Friday 8.45 am - 4.00 pm (closed for lunch from 12.00 pm - 1.00 pm). Bringing together families to provide a strong beginning for children Do you know about the Rockdale Children & Families Hub? The Hub brings together services and families to learn and provide a strong beginning for children in the community. The goal is that all children in Rockdale get the best start to school and supported by a connected community. Services can be accessed through two locations – Rockdale Public School and Integricare Rockdale. These services include Childhood Services – Supported Playgroups, long day care and Rockdale Public School; Health Services – SESLHD Child and Family Nurse

REACT - Reaction Evaluation and Antibiotic Allergy Clinical Team at St George Hospital 1 in 10 of patients may report a penicillin allergy but 90 per cent of these are subsequently not found to have an allergy. The Antibiotic Allergy Clinic is a new clinic at St George Hospital. Our aim is to de-label patients from their penicillin allergies through assessment, skin testing and oral challenges. The de-labelling of patients from their antibiotic allergy aims to reduce readmissions, improve patient outcomes and drive down antibiotic resistance. Mood Active 4 Week Wellness Workout is back for the last time this year! Stressed, anxious and down in the dumps? Try signing up for a “FREE 4 Week Wellbeing Workout” starting 10 October 2019 in Rockdale with charity association Mood Active. If you haven’t heard, Mood Active helps people get back on their feet using exercise! Each session combines 2.5 hours of motivation/resilience strategies and 60 minutes of fun exercise. National Centre for Veterans' Healthcare (NCVH) opens at Concord Hospital National Centre for Veterans' Healthcare (NCVH) recently opened at Concord Hospital. The Centre was designed to fill in an identified gap in the healthcare of veterans and allow their families to be in direct contact with assisting case workers. This holistic approach is a national first. Referrals are currently being accepted. Building your Allied Health Business – Know Your Numbers This workshop will give you the tools you need to create an annual plan preparing you to work with time-bound goals, putting yourself on a track for even greater success. You’ll learn how to set realistic financial objectives based upon marketplace challenges, business and personal financial needs. The expo will feature health information from SLHD services, Cancer Institute NSW, Diabetes NSW, Headspace as well as private providers, and health talks for community. As of 17 July, we have updated our event registration process. Users can now register for events using two of the three identifiers - email address, mobile number or member number. This means that if you do not remember your member number, you can still register with the two other identifiers. You can also enter your mobile number to receive an SMS with your member number. Each event will be identified as a member-only event or open event. If an event is for members only, you will be prompted to either become a member or pay the event fee.
