Plenty of opportunities for you to get involved and have your say

As a member of our Community Voice Panel, we have some consultation opportunities that we wanted to let you know about and some projects we've previously mentioned to the panel that we wanted to provide an update on.

WANTED: YOUR BUDGET IDEAS

Now is the time to put on your thinking caps and let us know what projects you’d like to see included in our 2019/20 budget.

Rather than wait for community input once a draft budget has been produced, we want to know about your ideas now. This means we'll have enough time to investigate and prioritise them for the budget.

It could be a local playground that needs jazzing up, perhaps there’s a sporting facility that needs upgrading, a local road that needs some attention or a service that you would like introduced or improved.

We’re also mid-way through our four-year Council Plan, which means it’s time to review our priorities for the next two years, and your ideas will help us achieve this.

How to have your say

You can take our online survey, pick up a hard copy from a Customer and Library Service Centre, or come and see us at a range of community events over the coming weeks including the Tallarook Farmers' Market this Sunday 2 September.

Submissions close Monday 8 October 2018.

The former Tallarook Mechanics Institute hall

TALLAROOK MECHANICS INSTITUTE After some great feedback, we're ready for the next steps

The survey results are now in on the Tallarook Mechanics Institute rebuild.

The insurance company will be attending the next community meeting tonight (6pm, Tuesday 28 August) at the Recreation Reserve Pavilion.

We'll then be in a better position to have some more detailed discussion around the pros and cons of getting the insurers to manage the rebuild compared to accepting a cash payout and getting Council to manage the rebuild.

You can view the survey results or sign up for updates on Engaging Mitchell.

Structure plans adopted

Three years in the making, planning scheme amendments for the Kilmore and Wandong/Heathcote Junction Structure Plans have been adopted.

Council adopted the plans at the August Council meeting following a 12-month planning scheme amendment.

This included a review by an Independent Planning Panel.

Amendment C123 is now under consideration by the Minister for Planning for implementation into the Mitchell Planning Scheme.

Thank you to everyone who provided input along the way.
