Welcome to our Christmas Newsletter.

After an unprecedented year with most of the world in lockdown, not once or twice but now three times in some countries, we must consider ourselves to be very fortunate to live here in Antigua.

Although there is still an overnight curfew and a degree of social distancing is being maintained, almost all the hotels, restaurants, bars and boutiques have reopened and there are superyachts on the docks again.  The requirement for all visitors and returning nationals to be covid tested prior to arrival has ensured that Antigua and Barbuda has remained relatively covid-free and Antigua is being considered by many as a safe bolt-hole in these troubled times.

Although the majority of buyers still come from the U.K, with the pound sterling strengthening in the hopes of a Brexit trade deal prior to the New Year and a resurgence of interest in Antigua from North America, the property market in Antigua is the most bouyant it has been since the Lehman Brothers crash.  However, there are still a few bargains to be had particularly at the lower end of the market.  Please call us or e-mail for more information.

 

PROPERTY UPDATE

What is most pleasing is regularly meeting with people to whom we have sold houses and have them telling us how happy they are that they moved to Antigua.  As agents, we don't just sell houses, we try to make sure that our buyers are integrated into the community and become part of the social scene.
