The High School Sports Day took place last Monday. Being in the Form 1 and 2 group myself and my friends started the day with the races. Nearly everyone participated in at least one of the races: they were very exciting to watch and run in. Everyone was particularly interested in the Form relays. We all wanted to win. After the races we moved on to the field activities: high jump, long jump, javelin, and the shot putt. We all enjoyed them. Later we were invited to participate in a variety of activities, such as boxercise, rounders, Just Dance, and even a bit of yoga!
Hot food was available throughout the day and most people bought at least one ice cream due to the fantastic weather. The tug-of-war at the end of the day was very amusing to watch and a great way to finish what was a brilliant Sports Day.

The High School celebrated Active Schools Week beginning with Sports Day and ending with a Sports Assembly where achievement in sport was celebrated with the whole school in attendance. During the week pupils from Form 4 enjoyed fun lunch-time activities such as dance, volleyball, table tennis, and soccer. Pupils had a wonderful time and everyone was encouraged to get active!
Congratulations to all involved in last week's stunning Summer Concert. Numerous acts performed in front of a delighted audience. It was especially poignant to hear Form 6 pupils perform for the last time together and equally thrilling to hear new pupils play for the first time. The performances
ended with a memorable tour de force piece as choir and orchestra came together to perform a powerful rendition of This Is Me from The Greatest Showman. It was truly an unforgettable evening. We done to everyone involved.
Form 1 Geography Field Trip
On May 20 Form 1 went on a Geography field trip to Causey Farm, Co Meath. There was a large range of activities on offer including bodhrán-playing, bog-jumping, bread-baking, and sheep-herding. We also got to hold the young animals. My Form loved holding sheepdog pups, young lambs, and chickens. However, I think my favourite activity was bog-jumping. We got really muddy! Everyone had a wonderful time.
