"And There I Was" By Hoke Rosenberg: An autobiographical comic about gender identity, coming out to yourself, and finding your way.
Have you ever told a lie or have secrets no one knows about? Maybe you’re holding onto something you want to confess? Join Qian Julie Wang, the New York Times bestselling author of Beautiful Country, shares her personal narrative of being a Chinese immigrant as she leads us through the challenging process of writing a memoir—protecting those you love while telling your authentic story.
With employers reading hundreds, if not thousands of job applications, we will teach you how to write an attention-grabbing cover letter! Learn how to sell yourself by highlighting transferable skills that align with the job or internship you are applying for, and much, much more! After covering the basics, you will work in a breakout room with other mentors and mentees, putting what you learned into practice and fine-tuning your cover letter. In Part 2 of the Landing the Role series, you will learn how to prepare a
stellar cover letter. Join us for all three parts of this series to land your dream internship or job!
Starting in December, you’ll be able to request to work one-to-one with an editor on your piece, ask specific questions about submission requirements or get technical help with a software or tool you’re not sure how to use! This is your space to make sure you’re ready to meet your program deadlines.
We asked young women and gender-expansive youth in our community to look at the same footage as inspiration for a story—their story. These writers and leaders are shaping culture, creating change and impacting the world. Without #DifferentPerspectives, we all fall behind.
For more than two decades, we’ve been a proud community of diverse, multigenerational writers and creators. We know the power of their stories to connect, challenge and transform. Learn more about Girls Write Now.
