A word from Steph

Even though it is such a disappointing blow to not be able to have our members together for the planned Forum, we are still really pleased to be offering a number of different events for the rest of 2021. You will see in this newsletter we have our networking events throughout September, a virtual member meeting in October, and then we have been working with our colleagues on ensuring we can provide workplaces with the resources you need to bring Mental Health Month to life.

I heard recently that rather than enquiring if the people around you are struggling, it is probably more accurate to assume that the people around you are struggling right now. Of course to different degrees. One thing I am pushing the message on whether it be in my organisation, with my family or in my friendship group texts, is to be kind. Assume that people are doing their best and give yourself a darn break. This Stuff Is Hard. Hopefully the resources, articles and research highlighted in this email will support and inform you and your colleagues in your work in promoting positive wellbeing outcomes in the workplace.

Stay safe everyone, and enjoy reading our update.

      Member Spotlight

As an industry we are also still challenged by organisations putting initiatives in place without any input from their staff, based on what they think they need. Guess who knows what they need when it comes to health and wellbeing? The staff themselves, and especially those with lived experience."
