Regular Library hours begin on Tuesday, September 6. The Main Library will be open Mondays to Thursdays from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. Sunday service will resume at all library locations on Sunday, September 11, 2022.

This captivating sci-fi novel was written pre-COVID, but has a lot to say about contagious diseases, quarantine and how people respond to disasters. Introduction to Family History Research

Join members of the Wellington County Branch, Ontario Ancestors and our Archivist, Darcy, to help you discover your family’s story. Register for Introduction to Family History Research held in the Main Library on Saturday, September 17 at 2 p.m.

Learn the first steps of researching your family history including how to gather family stories, determining what records are needed and how to record the information you find. This workshop also includes a demonstration of the online resources Ancestry Library Edition and an overview of FamilySearch which provides access to billions of records.

Read 1,000 Books Before Grade One
Did you know that reading together is one of the most effective ways to support early literacy development? The 1000 Books Before Grade One reading challenge is a fantastic, self-paced activity offered year-round at all library locations. It is specially designed to provide strong early literacy support for young readers. Using the reading logs provided, individuals track their progress and upon completion a prize and certificate are awarded. To keep readers engaged and motived while building strong reading habits, incentives are also available for every 100 books read! Drop by any library location to pick up your reading log or print the reading log here.
