One of the striking things when reviewing photos and posts from past events are the images of people just hanging out and enjoying themselves. This is especially true of the Queensland events held at Springbrook.

So much open space and usually a lot of sunshine as well.

The talks and workshops are great and make CampJS what it is, but having a bit of space to chill out is pretty awesome too.  So we were thinking that the Sunday of CampJS VI could perhaps have a bit of a "festival day" vibe - a little less structure and little more time for other things.

In anticipation we've hired a marquee, and extra tables and chairs so there's more space to hang outside (will be available for the whole weekend).  We're going to attempt crazy things with kites, aerial photography and throw JS into the mix to see where we end up.  We're going to make things and enjoy being part of this awesome community.  But before we go to far with this we want to know what you think about this (it is your community after all).

Preliminary Session Info

A big thanks to all of you who submitted sessions during our call for presentations.  In addition to those sessions, we've reached out to a few other people who we know have interesting stuff up their sleeve and asked them to get involved also.

While the list isn't complete yet, you can start to review and even plan what sessions you are going to attend through the session information on Lanyrd. We'll also be getting this information up on the CampJS site soon.

Student / Diversity Discount Code

In addition to the meetup group discount codes (get in touch with your local JS meetup group for these) we now have a special discount code to ensure that CampJS VI is as accessible as possible.  If you are a full-time student or aren't compensated as you should be for the amazing work you do, you are WELCOME at CampJS.  This discount code brings the ticket cost down to just $280 for the entire weekend (accommodation and meals).
