This series will feature mentors, mentees, teaching artists, staff, and alumni interviewing each other about all the creative projects they've got cooking, plus what it means to create in community.

Alumnae Pair Reflect on 16 Years of Mentorship

Mentor Alum Nana Ekua Brew-Hammond and Mentee Alum Patrice Floy shared their journey together at the 2020 Girls Write Now Live reading series. Nana's new book, Reflections: An Anthology of African and Diaspora Voices, comes out on January 17 and is available for pre-order now.

Pitching Stories to Heal the World

Come bond with your fellow mentees at this mentee-only journalism workshop with Katina Paron of Solutions Journalism. Work together in small groups on a pitch for a story you care deeply about, whether it's cupcakes, K-pop, or climate change. Plus, de-stress in a wellness session!

Journaling as Healing

Join us for an afternoon of wellness, community, and fun as you socialize with other mentors and get to know each other. Bond with your fellow mentors at this mentor-only, wellness-focused workshop where you'll explore how writing can be healing through journaling methods such as stream of consciousness, narrative writing, and inner child work.
