EN 16034
FIRE- AND/OR SMOKE-RESISTANT WINDOWS AND DOORS UPDATE
Only one year to go: Is your company ready for certification on EN 16034 ?
On 1 November 2016, the 3-year coexistence period (transition period) of EN 16034 has started. This period runs until 1 November 2019. This means that manufacturers of fire and/ or smoke-resistant doors will have one year to be certified on EN 16034.
For your company it would be wise to request the certification process in time and take the following steps:
Step 1: Development
Setting up and implementing a Factory Production Control-system (FPC-system) that meets the requirements of EN 16034.
Step 2: Certification
During an on-site inspection, SKG-IKOB will assess whether the FPC-system meets the requirements of EN 16034, whether the correct substantiation (KOMO approvals on BRL 3241, ITT reports, EXAP statements, etc.) is present for the performance of the façade elements and whether these are exactly produced according to these.
Step 3: Certificate granting
After a positive result, the certificate will be issued and your company will comply with European legislation.
For more information on this subject and the certification process you can always contact SKG-IKOB.
