The Coromandel Cure
will be
revealed next week

We have had a good response from people wanting to participate in our summer campaign, The Coromandel Cure, but it's not too late to get involved.

The reveal of The Coromandel Cure will be next Wednesday, 29 November, signalling the launch of the campaign. As always our overarching goal is to promote Hauraki Coromandel as a place to visit. We determined at the outset that the key component of this campaign is inclusivity for all: operators, businesses, business associations and other community groups.

There is no cost to participate; your contribution is time putting together your Coromandel Cure, describing it and using the creative we will supply to link to the promotional activity.  This campaign has budget and time behind it. The first phase of nationwide PR which you will see next week will kick it off with the reveal of The Coromandel Cure.

Activity will continue throughout summer until Easter (with a short break over the Christmas holiday peak) so by aligning your marketing now, you will have ongoing promotion for months to come.

Prescibe your Coromandel Cure using campaign creative assets and platforms to make sure it gets good coverage during the promotion.

Your Coromandel Cure could be one of two deliverables:

  • A special product (e.g limited edition product, dish on a menu, experience)
  • A combo, package, add-on, anything that's good for your soul. This could be solo or in collaboration with other operators.

Product:  Let us know what your special product cure is, when it is available and how you are presenting it.  We can help you decide how to use the campaign's creative assets and provide additional resources, such as stickers.

Package:  Upload details of your Coromandel Cure to our website which has a special landing page so people who have seen campaign promotions can find their Coromandel Cure.

Packages and Products: Use the creative assets (which will be available from next Thursday via the link below) including a list of "side effects".  Identify your Coromandel Cure on your promotional channels and where people can come and take the cure. eg. your website, posters, labels, social, and in other print and digital content.

By identifying your Coromandel Cure you will leverage the considerable power of this campaign.

Promoting your business with international travel trade

International visitors are highly valued in Hauraki Coromandel, and they contribute much despite coming in fewer numbers than domestic visitors. Many businesses would like to promote themselves internationally, but the trick is getting a share of the tiny voice that is New Zealand in this vast and diverse market.

That is why export-ready businesses, Destination Hauraki Coromandel, other RTOs and Tourism New Zealand actively target travel trade channels, particularly New Zealand-based inbound specialists.  There are a couple of key events where you can connect with these partners directly:

eXplore Central North Island Trade show
30 May 2024, Auckland

Held annually at Eden Park, this show is one full day for agents to meet with you and discuss selling your services to international travellers.  This is a free-flow event and some appointments are planned this year at the agents' request.  We expect some international agents in the country for TRENZ will attend too (we're inviting them).

TRENZ
8-10 May 2024, Wellington

New Zealand's largest international travel trade show, with hundreds of high-quality international and New Zealand travel buyers attending to schedule appointments with exhibiting businesses. Our team (DHC) will attend to cover all trade-ready operators in Hauraki Coromandel and to promote travel to the region. If your business plan is to develop the international market and contract products through trade, your own stand and appointment stream is the most direct way to achieve this.
