Community radio stations have provided a reassuring voice to millions of people during the ongoing public health crisis, but many have faced severe financial difficulties. In response, the UK government announced emergency funding to help them meet the costs of providing vital programming to local communities. Ofcom administered two rounds of funding earlier this year with grants provided 111 successful applicants totalling £406,810. These grants were awarded by the Community Radio Fund Panel, which is independent of Ofcom. Due to the ongoing impact of Covid-19, an additional £200,000 has now been made available by DCMS for a third funding round in 2020-21 to support community radio stations which are taking steps to tackle loneliness and isolation within their communities. Applications are now open for grants of up to £7,500. Any applications requesting greater than £7,500 will not be considered by the Panel. Before applying, we would encourage all applicants to review our Guidance Notes for Round Three of the fund and the Panel’s published approach and reasoning behind its decisions on applications from Round One and Round Two. Applications must be submitted by 5pm on 14 January 2021. Applicants that have already received funding from any of the £750million Covid-19 Charities Package, including through other government departments, the Community Match Challenge, the Covid-19 Community Support Fund or the Big Night In, will not be eligible to receive this funding. Cyfnod ceisiadau’n ailagor i orsafoedd radio cymunedol ar gyfer cyllid mewn argyfwngMae gorsafoedd radio cymunedol yn cael trydydd cyfle i wneud cais am gyllid brys i'w helpu drwy’r argyfwng Covid-19. Mae gorsafoedd radio cymunedol wedi rhoi llais calonogol i filiynau o bobl yn ystod yr argyfwng iechyd cyhoeddus parhaus, ond mae llawer wedi wynebu anawsterau ariannol difrifol. Mewn ymateb, cyhoeddodd llywodraeth y DU gyllid brys i'w helpu i dalu costau darparu rhaglennu hanfodol i gymunedau lleol. Gweinyddodd Ofcom ddwy rownd ariannu yn gynharach eleni gyda grantiau'n darparu cyfanswm o £406,810 i 111 o ymgeiswyr llwyddiannus. Dyfarnwyd y grantiau hyn gan Banel y Gronfa Radio Cymunedol, sy'n annibynnol i Ofcom. Oherwydd effaith barhaus Covid-19, mae DCMS bellach wedi darparu £200,000 ychwanegol ar gyfer trydedd rownd ariannu yn 2020-21 i gefnogi gorsafoedd radio cymunedol sy'n cymryd camau i fynd i'r afael ag unigrwydd ac unigedd yn eu cymunedau. Mae ceisiadau bellach ar agor ar gyfer grantiau o hyd at £7,500. Ni fydd unrhyw geisiadau sy'n gofyn am fwy na £7,500 yn cael eu hystyried gan y Panel. Cyn gwneud cais, byddem yn annog pob ymgeisydd i adolygu ein Nodiadau Arweiniad ar gyfer Rownd Tri y gronfa, y dull a gyhoeddwyd gan y Panel a'r rhesymeg y tu ôl i'w benderfyniadau ar geisiadau Rownd Un a Rownd Dau. Rhaid cyflwyno ceisiadau erbyn 5pm ar 14 Ionawr 2021. Ni fydd prosiectau sydd eisoes wedi derbyn cyllid gan unrhyw un o'r Pecyn Elusennau Covid-19 gwerth £750miliwn, gan gynnwys drwy adrannau eraill y llywodraeth, Community Match Challenge, Cronfa Cymorth Cymunedol Covid-19 neu'r Noson Fawr i Mewn yn gymwys i dderbyn y cyllid hwn.
