The Rupert Sanderson Champagne Slipper at 34 Mayfair
The Rupert Sanderson Champagne Slipper

34 Mayfair has partnered with glamourous British shoe designer Rupert Sanderson to create The Rupert Sanderson Champagne Slipper for 34 Mayfair. Inspired by NYC’s Chrysler Building, Rupert has crafted the ultimate Champagne glassware design, where the flute has been turned into an intricately detailed, silver-plated brass and crystal glass shoe stand. The “heel” may be detached for drinking, ensuring the functionality of this chef d’oeuvre, crafted by Clive Burr. From Wednesday, 9 November, diners who order a bottle of Perrier-Jouët Belle Epoque Rosé will be served their Champagne in The Rupert Sanderson Champagne Slipper. There will also be a limited number of the Slippers on sale at 34 Mayfair (available to order from 9 November via email).

Thanksgiving celebrations will be taking place across the pond later this month, but that doesn’t mean the rest of us can’t enjoy its delicious customs. This year 34 Mayfair & Le Caprice will be marking the occasion with a selection of all-American dishes, including 34 Mayfair's New England shellfish chowder and caramel pumpkin pie, served with maple ice cream. Both restaurants' Thanksgiving menus will be available at lunch and dinner on Thursday, 24 November. There's also daily specials available at The Mount Street Deli, including creamy crab chowder or a much sought after homemade pumpkin pie.

The aptly named new cocktail list from Sexy Fish launched this week, but as you would imagine with Sexy Fish, this is not just any old cocktail menu. Apart from the in-depth research that has gone into the inspiration behind and creation of the drinks themselves, the team has come up with a novel way to showcase the list. They have created a glossy magazine ~ “Fish Tales”. The cocktails themselves have a strong focus on fashion, art and design; indeed, the sections are labelled Haute Couture and Prêt-à-Porter. “Kiss Me” is inspired by French artist Niki de Saint Phalle and the snag is that unless you do just that thing, you won’t be able to drink it! 34 Mayfair’s Bar Manager, Daniele Liberati has joined forces with four of Mayfair’s most impressive arbiters of style and tradition: Hardy Amies – Saville Row tailor; James Purdey & Sons – makers of some of the world’s finest gun and rifles; Georg Jensen, Denmark’s most exquisite silversmiths; and H.R. Higgins – third generation speciality tea and coffee merchants and retailers. Daniele has concocted a new cocktail list for the restaurant, which resonates with the strong brand heritage and inimitable appeal of these four extraordinary companies. The new cocktail menu launches on 14 November.
