Community Grants & AwardsArmistice Centenary Grants ProgramPurpose: To provide funding for local community-based projects and activities which commemorate the end of the First World War The Shortland electorate has $50,000 to fund projects valued between $3,000 and $50,000 to local community organisations, schools and councils to commemorate the Centenary of the Armistice. Aurizon Community Giving FundPurpose: To support communities in the areas of: Health & Wellbeing; Community Safety; the Environment and Education The Community Giving Fund was established to provide support to our communities in the areas of Health & Wellbeing, Community Safety, Environment and Education. Since 2011, we are proud to say that we have helped over more than 180 charities and community groups around Australia. It doesn’t matter how big or how small the charity or project is, if it benefits our communities, we want to help it succeed. The Aurizon Community Giving Fund is focused on the broad areas of health and wellbeing, community safety, the environment and education. For more information: Click here Grants to End HomelessnessPurpose: to provide funding for initiatives to ending homelessness The Mercy Foundation Grants to End Homelessness are available for seeding initiatives, services, projects, advocacy and research that will contribute to the goal of ending homelessness. Projects that focus on chronic homelessness and women who experience chronic homelessness are currently priority areas for funding. The Mercy Foundation has introduced an Expression of Interest Form process. If your EOI is successful you will be invited to submit a full application and proposal form. Inger Rice Foundation GrantsPurpose: This program seeks to fund incorporated organisations involved with programs that support the relationships between young children and their families/carers. The Foundation’s objective is to promote the health, welfare and development of young children. The target groups can include prenatal programs and programs for children from birth to primary school entry. Preference is given to those from disadvantaged communities. Local Sporting Champions ProgramPurpose: To help our junior sport stars meet the costs of participation at eligible sporting competitions. The Local Sporting Champions program is an initiative designed to help Shortland’s young athletes realise their sporting dreams and compete in their sporting competitions. Local junior athletes turning 12 to 18 years of age in the same calendar year as the nominated sporting championship can apply for a grant to cover the cost of travel, accommodation, uniforms and equipment. Associated with participating in an eligible championship, individual athletes who are participating in appropriately endorsed state school sport championships or international competitions and are travelling more than 250km return from the competition are eligible to apply for support. Safe Shooting ProgramPurpose: to enable clubs and ranges to connect with the new FALCON system The primary focus for the 2017-2018 round of funding is to enable clubs and ranges to connect with the new Firearms and Licensing Communications Online Network (FALCON) system being developed by the NSW Firearms Registry. This will enable clubs and ranges to utilise the online system, especially to enable a ‘live’ check of who is using their range. Priority will be given to clubs and ranges without computer access and electricity. This is a serious and major compliance issue when clubs and ranges are being informed they are expected to use the online system. For more information: click here.

Sustainable Regions Grants GrantPurpose: to help strengthen regional communities by enabling them to better manage their natural resources and promote biodiversity. The NAB Foundation’s Sustainable Regions Grants aim to help strengthen regional communities by enabling them to better manage their natural resources and promote biodiversity. The grants support the development and implementation of regional approaches to strengthen co-ordination and collaboration between environmental groups, business, landholders and government, involve the community in practical on-ground action to improve the environment, and implement regional solutions to environmental challenges. Psychology of Diverse Bodies, Genders and Sexuality AwardsPurpose: to promote and encourage excellence in research into psychological issues of same-sex attraction. The APS Psychology of Diverse Bodies, Genders and Sexualities Interest Group is calling for nominations from graduates of fourth year, Masters by coursework, and/or their supervisors, for the Psychology of Diverse Bodies, Genders and Sexualities Award. The value of the Psychology of Diverse Bodies, Genders and Sexualities Award is $250 and the winner will be announced at the annual conference of the APS and in InPsych. Small Business Grants NSWFunding provider: NSW - Office of State Revenue The Small Business Grant encourages small businesses in NSW who don't pay payroll tax to hire new employees and expand their business. A one-off payment of up to $2,000 is available for each new full-time position in your business.
