Click here Dear MembersThis week the BSA team met colleagues from across the boarding sector in Northern Ireland and Ireland at Campbell College in Belfast for the second BSA Ireland Boarding Forum and one-day conference.The first BSA London Boarding Forum took place at DLD College and Denstone College hosted the BSA Midlands Boarding Forum. On November 21, Christ College, Brecon will host the BSA Wales Boarding Forum. If you have not yet registered to attend and would like to, please email Head of Member Services, Chris Ryan. BSA is looking to pull together guidance on two topics discussed at some of our recent regional forums – ‘managing transgender issues’ and ‘boarding staff wellbeing’. If anyone would like to share their experiences, cases studies or policies in these areas please email me via robin@boarding.org.uk Webinar LaunchBSA is pleased to announce the launch of a new webinar series. Over the course of the academic year, we will run a number of webinars, hosted by experts in their fields to provide insight and training into various topical subjects. Our first webinar is being led by former teacher and professional cricketer Patrick Foster discussing 'Gambling and Online Gaming' on November 26, 2019, from10:30-11:30 GMT. Patrick will be discussing his experience with gambling addiction and how schools can provide guidance on this topic for boarders, and there will be time at the end for questions. Member ServicesWe have developed a survey with our sister association ABSA in Australia, to ascertain how many staff in schools are actually involved in boarding duties.This covers areas such as different staff in different roles, length of service, age range, etc., which will be valuable data to analyse and share to help the sector.
