APU Alumni Stories
Randall Trice, BSW '18, MSW '20
After Trice obtained his master's degree in social work in 2020, he began work at an agency that provides mental health services to the homeless population in Los Angeles County. Trice is now the Executive Director and Founder of his nonprofit organization called Shoes4Grades, an idea he thought of in graduate school as a class assignment. The organization seeks to improve students' grades by motivating them to excel in school, enjoy the learning experience, and become lifelong thinkers. National Day of Prayer Virtual Live Event
The Office of Alumni Engagement invites alumni, families, and friends of the university to join us virtually on May 6, 8-8:30 a.m. (PDT). We will collectively pray and worship together to lift up our loved ones, our university, our community, and our country. The time of prayer will be led by Dr. Terry Fransen, Vice President Emeritus, Dr. Coba Canales, Dean of Spiritual Formation, and Kelli O’Gorman, APU Board Trustee Member, featuring musical guest and APU alumna, Astyn Turrentine. Blessing of the Hands
The APU School of Nursing invites you to celebrate National Nurses Week by attending Blessing of the Hands. This annual event honors and celebrates our nurses during a time of spiritual renewal and focus through a service planned specifically for the nurse commUNITY. Be reminded of the Christian connection that binds our heads, hearts, and healing hands with a time to share and receive prayer as Dr. Michael Morales, APU chaplain, leads each nurse through a meaningful anointing ceremony. Please bring a small cup of oil as you anoint yourself or invite a loved one to anoint you. Click here to register.
APUSA Spring Scholarship Benefit
We are thrilled to invite you to Azusa Pacific University Scholarship Association’s virtual Spring Benefit, featuring inspiring speaker and author of Ripple Effects, Pam Tebow, mother of Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow. Join us on Thursday, May 20, at 7 p.m. (PDT), to help raise student scholarships. Hear an uplifting message from Pam about how God used life’s challenges to impact the world around her and how you can be empowered to make a difference for the Lord. We hope you will join us. Virtual Live Tie-Dye Demo
The Office of Alumni Engagements wants you to join our T-shirt tie-dye party! Bring your rubber bands, buckets of dye, and plain T-shirt as we dip and dye to our heart’s content. Experience this festive event on Friday, May 21, 4:30-5 p.m. (PDT) for a virtual live demo with a creative expert to lead us in a step-by-step tie-dye process. Invite friends and family, gather the kids, and make some colorful creations just in time for summer. Event cost is $5, and more details and sign-ups coming soon!
