Opioids: Three New Standards of Care Coming

We are in the final stages of developing three quality standards, that outline for clinicians and patients what high-quality care looks like when:

  • Prescribing Opioids for Acute Pain
  • Prescribing Opioids for Chronic Pain
  • Identifying and Treating Opioid Use Disorder

These standards will be finalized in March. Also, learn about partnered supports for helping patients manage pain.

Final Health Technology Assessment and Funding Recommendation

The standard method of reducing and preventing hospital-acquired infections is decontamination of patient rooms through manual cleaning and disinfection. Several no-touch ultraviolet light systems have been reviewed to determine if these devices can replace current hospital cleaning and disinfecting practices.

Read our final recommendation against publicly funding these ultraviolet light surfacing-disinfection devices for prevention of hospital-acquired infections.
