In the week before Australia's first F-35s land at RAAF Williamtown, the ANAO has released its report into the program. Despite some criticism of the lack of annual updates from Defence to the government, the auditor has given the program a tentative thumbs-up.

In other news, RAAF celebrates two anniversaries in SA, IFRS releases a report into how Navy can adapt to the unmanned and autonomous future, Leidos wins a significant contract in the US, PNG receives its first patrol boat from Australia, the SIA promotes submarine careers in schools, and lawyers in SA prepare to create a website providing legal guidance for Australian space start-ups.

Lastly, a heads up that next week will be the last Defence Week for 2018 as the year winds down.
