provider since 2010 and is an integrated clinical advisor for Vivos. He also holds a diplomate status with the American Sleep and Breathing Academy. Topic: Non-Surgical Bone Growth and Development For Your Case and Their Face Come and learn how a non-surgical approach, with a biomimetic appliance, can create bone and arch space. Expansion and development of the maxilla and mid-face bones can address the typical case difficulties and dysfunction that trouble
both patients and doctors, by addressing the underlying cause of the problems: underdeveloped and narrow jaws and airways. See how Craniofacial Epigenetics and Pneumopedics with the Vivos system can create more bone, tongue space and airway volume for you and your patients.
Dr. Vijay Parashar Dr. Parashar, received DDS from University of Detroit Mercy, MDSc and Certification in Oral & Maxillofacial Radiology from University of Connecticut. He is serving as Professor with Tenure at the Midwestern University in Arizona. He received Howard R. Raper Award and William H. Rollins Award for Research by the AAOMR. He is on the editorial review board of various national and international journals. He has conducted and published basic science, translational and clinical research with ongoing emphasis on interdisciplinary imaging research. Topic: CBCT for Implant Dentistry Cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) has gained broad use in the field of dental
medicine, providing high resolution information in three dimensions. This lecture discusses the nature and uses of CBCT; Implant planning complications and preventative strategies. 1. Applications of CBCT imaging in addition to implant planning
2. 3D - Anatomy of critical structures with variations of normal
3. Challenges in Implant placement
4. Preventative strategies to avoid implant complications
Dr. Jerome H. Stroumza Dr. Stroumza received his DDS in Paris, France with emphases in endodontics, periodontics, oral surgery and radiology. After practicing and teaching in Paris he decided to pursue further training at UCLA for a Masters of Science in Oral Biology where he did research in growth factors and the extraction and testing of BMP (Bone Morphogenic Protein) discovered by Professor Urist. He then continue is training at Boston University where he received his endodontic
specialty under the leadership of Professor Herbert Schilder, the inventor of the Warm Gutta Percha Technique and his Doctorate of Science, under Professor Dana Graves, for his research of human osteoblastic cell migration and the impact of endotoxin in the healing of lesions of endodontic origin. Since teaching at UCSF, he maintains a full time practice in San Francisco continuing to teach in his Institute as well as nationally and internationally. His teaching include comprehensive endodontics, treatment planning, the use of CBCT, intra oral scanner, 3D printing for guided surgery as well as all technical and technological phases to insure seamless transition from endodontic complications to successful prothetic driven implant placements. Dr. Stroumza is a Diplomate & co-Director of education at IADI. Dr. Stroumza’s is the inventor of dental protocols, instruments, concepts,
endodontic kits and the EndoImplantology™ approach addressing the paradigm shift for the management of complex endodontic cases. The EndoImplantology Classification for cases managements is published. Topic: Transition from Endodontics Complication to Implantology and the use of In Office 3D Printed Surgical Guide Notwithstanding the extraordinary clinical outcome that endodontics can offer, some clinical situations have to be recognized as contra-indication to root canal
therapy. How to recognize when “to save or not to save a tooth” and how to transit from endodontics to prosthetically driven guided surgery implant placement using In Office 3D Printing (IO3DP) will be reviewed based on clinical conditions analyses, CBCT, IOS, computer modeling but also surgical extraction techniques, grafting requirement, healing projection for delayed or immediate implant placement.
Dr. Alan Dalessandro Dr. Alan Dalessandro was born and raised in the Chicago area. He received his DDS degree from Loyola University School of Dentistry, Chicago in 1979; did a residency at Rush Presbyterian, St Luke’s Hospital in General Practice and Anesthesia; and went on to get his periodontal fellowship at the University of Illinois, College of Dentistry. For over 35 years, he has practiced periodontics in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago, and began placing dental implants in
the early 1980s. Dr. Dalessandro was one of the early adopters of Cone Beam CT scanning for bone evaluation, and uses this successfully in his practice with every implant case. He has also studied extensively regarding lasers and their use in periodontics. His teaching experience goes back to the 1990s on a wide range of topics; his goal is to pass knowledge and information along to his colleagues to help them become educated on current trends in dentistry. He is now teaching groups of periodontists and dentists on a regular basis regarding the physics of laser technology and how lasers can be used as a tool to enhance results and help treat failing implants, periodontal diseases, gingival grafting, and many other surgical procedures. Topic: Perio-Implantitis Management (More information to be provided.)
Dr. Samuel S. Lee Dr. Samuel Lee holds two doctoral degree in Dentistry. Doctor of Medical Science from Harvard, and Doctor of Dental Surgery from UCLA. He also holds a specialty certificate in Periodontology from Harvard. Dr. Lee devotes the majority of his work in helping underserved populations to have access to dental care through his non-profit organization named “Care to Share Smile.” He is an innovator with a passion for teaching and developing new technologies. When
he was a dental student, he taught Biochemistry at UCLA. Today, he teaches across the globe to dental schools and makes time to conduct CE courses for general dentists and specialists while increasing access to care to underserved populations in developing countries. Dr. Lee is a diplomate of the International Academy of Dental Implantology. He actively conducts research and development while running a busy private practice in Boston, MA and San Diego, CA limited to implant surgery and orthodontics. He also won multiple 1st place Table Clinic Presentation Awards at the American Academy of Implant Dentistry in 2008, American Orthodontic Society and International Congress of Oral Implantologists in 2007. Dr. Lee invented the “Crestal Window Sinus Grafting Technique” and owns the patent on various sinus and surgical instruments. He introduced a new method of dental radiography
that boasts of ultra low dosage radiation and allows for angulation correction that enhances 3D imaging capabilities. He serves as the current President of the International Academy of Dental Implantology. Topic: Digital Dentistry, The Pathway to Success for Implants, Orthodontics, and Prosthodontics In 2020, the standard in implant dentistry, orthodontics, and prosthodontics is using computer guided/assisted procedures. It does not make sense to start building a house without a proper architectural drawing. Similarly it does not make sense for
a doctor to plan occlusion without proper dental architectural planning. Digital dentistry has not only revolutionized the way we plan our cases, but it makes our procedures much more predictable in terms of accuracy. Placing implants free-handed is no longer acceptable in today's standards. Placing brackets free-handed is no longer acceptable in 2020. Even doing veneers or cosmetic dentistry should utilize diagnostic digital wax-ups to make the outcome more successful. In this lecture, I will show some case examples of how digital smile design, computer guided surgery, and computer assisted manufacturing has revolutionized our industry.
