Gift Supports Future of Mary Baldwin Social Work Program 

Bookending a generous gift of support that launched the Mary Baldwin social work program, the family of one alumna is now endowing that program to ensure its success for years to come.

Now recognized as the Susan Warfield Caples Department of Social Work, the program has educated and empowered dozens of social workers since its creation in 2007.  Read more >>

 

Alumna Gives Students Networking Opportunity

Approximately 30 Mary Baldwin students attended the Female Leadership Initiative at Pfizer offices in Richmond on November 6. Mary Baldwin alumna and Pfizer Senior Associate Scientist Kamala Chapman ’05 organizes the program each year.  Read more >>

 

PA Program to Launch in January with Full Class

When Kelli Cash ’15 walks into the foyer of Murphy Deming College of Health Sciences next month, the Mary Baldwin graduate will be one step closer to a career in medicine, a dream delayed but not deterred by raising a family of four boys and a career in emergency services.

Cash, who earned her bachelor's degree in psychology in May in the university’s Adult Degree Program, was the first MBC undergraduate admitted to the new Master of Science in Physician Assistant program, which will officially launch on January 4 with a full class of 38 students. Read more >>

 

Campus Store Opens in Hunt

A rainbow of T-shirts, throws, tote bags, and sweatshirts lines the walls among a vast collection of hats, Mason jar glasses, and water bottles — all beckoning students to show their school pride. The new Mary Baldwin store is now open for business in Lyda B. Hunt Dining Hall.

"We wanted a new look, fresh merchandise that's seasonal, and a welcoming atmosphere," said Rick Czerwinski, director of budget and risk management, who was on the team that helped plan and open the new retail space. Read more >>
