Town of Caledon Launches New Online Business Directory

The Town of Caledon is excited about the newly updated online business directory powered by YLM.

“Shopping locally creates direct positive impacts for businesses and consumers who will be able to find the products and services they need quickly and easily,” Mayor Allan Thompson.

The online business directory provides visitors, residents and businesses of Caledon with information on places to shop, eat, stay and play.

The Vineyard Jamaican Restaurant

A Taste of Jamaica in Bolton

On Saturday, July 25, The Vineyard Jamaican Restaurant officially opened for business at 12612 Highway 50, Unit 26 in Bolton. From classic jerk chicken to ox tail with rice and peas, owners Michael Bailey and wife/chef Wiinsome Bailey, serve up Caribbean favourites fresh daily. The Beer Store Relocates

Construction of the 6,700 square foot store has been completed and The Beer Store has relocated to 150 McEwan Drive East in Bolton. The new concept store brings a fresh approach that is more relevant to today’s consumer needs and buying habits.

Tourism Oriented Directional Signage Program

The Region of Peel offers a Tourism Oriented Directional Signage (TODS) Program.

To be eligible for TODS signs, a tourism business must meet the following basic criteria:

  • comply with all applicable federal, provincial and municipal legislation
  • adhere to the safety standards and procedures that apply to the industry to which the operation belongs
  • serve transient customers
  • be open to the general public
  • be accessible by public roads
  • remain open for at least 12 consecutive weeks a year, 5 days a week
  • have one or more of the following tourist oriented facilities:

     - a reception structure
     - a controlled gate
     - a staffed reception and orientation point
     - permanent interpretation panels or displays

  • advertise its location, operating season and hours, contact information, and facilities, either in tourism publications, or in publicity material regularly distributed in Ontario or appropriate regional/local Travel Information Centres

The Town of Caledon has Community Improvement Plans (CIP) in Bolton and Caledon East. If you are considering improving or redeveloping your commercial/industrial property and are located in one of these communities you may be eligible for CIP grants. Information about the CIPs is available on our website.

Taste of the Harvest 2015 - Call for Participation

Taste of the Harvest 2015 will take place from October 9 to November 8, 2015

This is your invitation to take part in the annual celebration of the fall harvest in Headwaters! Participation is easy and there are several ways to get in on the action:

  • Create a special 3-course prix-fixe FEAST menu (must have some type of harvest theme, and not include standard menu items or pricing).
  • Establish a price and send the menu and it will be included as part of the harvest FEAST promotion.
  • Add a harvest item to your menu (using Headwaters products, of course) and it will be included in the promotion.
  • Let Headwaters know about your harvest event or festival and they'll help promote it!
  • Host classes or workshops celebrating the harvest and Headwaters will promote them!

You must register by the end of August to be part of this popular event.

Farmers' Markets in Caledon Open for Business

Three options in Caledon to get your fresh, local food, wine and more!

The Inglewood Farmers' Market runs every Wednesday until October 7, 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Inglewood Park.

SouthFields' market is located at Dennison Park, beside SouthFields Village Public School and runs Thursday afternoons from 4:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., until Thanksgiving weekend!

The Market is now located at the municipal parking lot off Sterne Street, Bolton. The Market runs every Saturday, until October 10, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
