THE VISION LAB PODCAST

Climate Justice Meets Creativity

Big Questions & Bold Ideas from the Next Generation of Change-Makers

The Vision Lab is a new podcast series created through the Girls Write Now Lead Incubator Journey. Here, young leaders share their stories, projects, and insights as they work to make a difference in their communities and the world. In this first episode, mentee Robyn Lam speaks with mentor Melody Rose Serra about environmental advocacy, creative expression, and the importance of community-centered action. From restoring a neglected school garden to building creative spaces for youth voices, their conversation explores how young people can lead through curiosity, collaboration, and advocacy.

Grace and Sofia lead a studio series designed to make writers think about language as more than just a vessel for stories, but a story in and of itself.

PROMPT OF THE WEEK

Words in World-Building

Inventing a Language to Serve Your Story

Language—It’s everything and everywhere and, as writers, the material of our craft. What would a writer be without a language to write in? Join us in a series of studios designed to encourage your own experimentation with language through two specific and exciting avenues: the practice of creating artificial languages and the celebration of Indigenous languages as vehicles for storytelling.

Write about a story idea or setting for which you would like to develop a conlang, or constructed language. What feels intimidating about the project, or particularly exciting? What goals do you have for the language?

“Basically, I Could Sum Up My Writing Process as Scribbles.”

Asma Al-Masyabi’s Life@GWN as Told by Shreya Darji

Life@GWN presents the stories of Girls Write Now, by Girls Write Now. In this week's edition, Shreya Darji—a mentee in the Art of the Profile Journey—features fellow mentee, intern, and award-winning poet Asma Al-Masyabi. Asma’s process is about persistence—trying again and again to find the piece you like and working to maintain the internal motivation to create. Learn from Asma’s successes, insights, and even rejections, each a meaningful part of the artist's experience.
