GP input required: Mapping patient genomic journeys

Within recommendation five of the NSW Genomics Implementation Plan is a project involving mapping the patient genomic journeys for rare disease, cancer genomics and general population. There will be three patient journeys for each of these so nine in total. We would really value general practitioner contribution to this mapping process as key members of the genomic workforce. Participation would involve 30-60 minute discussion over the phone of nine patient journey maps with initial review of the patient journeys via email prior to the discussion. The discussion will involve the participant identifying where each patient is likely to interact with a GP and also the participant’s understanding of who else in the workforce each patient map might interact with. I would also value input from GPs regarding how genomics is impacting their practice and what support is needed to meet the increasing demand now and in the future.
Please contact Katie Nelson if interested on 9461 7207 or at katie.nelson@health.nsw.gov.au.
