BSLM2020 was the British Society of Lifestyle Medicine’s fourth annual conference - and was the first time our lifestyle medicine community has come together online. Congratulations to the BSLM team who pulled out all the stops to ensure delegates enjoyed as many of the benefits of a "real world" conference as possible. Over three days, we brought you presentations from expert speakers from around the world covering a broad range of lifestyle medicine-related topics. We hosted a series of live Q&A sessions giving delegates the chance to put questions live on the day to speakers. And we virtually hosted poster presentations from the 25 entries we received this year in our Call for Abstracts. Congratulations to Dr Sui Wong and the team at Guys & St Thomas NHS Foundation Trust who were announced as this year’s Poster Competition winners! Most importantly, we brought together healthcare professionals with a passionate interest in lifestyle medicine for what can only be described as a unique event. You can read a full report on the conference on the BSLM website. 2020: Why We Need Lifestyle Medicine More than EverWhile the world’s focus during 2020 has been on a communicable disease threat - the issue of chronic, non communicable disease has not gone away. In fact, right now, the world needs lifestyle medicine more than ever. This was a point made powerfully by BSLM chairman Dr Rob Lawson in his opening conference address which you can now watch on our vimeo channel. Accessing conference content via the ivent platformDon’t forget all ticket holders can view conference content online until Monday, October 5th via the ivent conference platform. We’ll also be making content available in the members area of the BSLM website in October once access via ivent is closed. A big thank you to the Medical Research Council Versus Arthritis Centre for Integrated Research into Musculoskeletal Ageing (CIMA) for supporting our conference this year - and enabling us to provide patient access to the event for free. We still have a limited number of places available for patients to access the conference content for free until October 5. Please email the BSLM office for details via office@bslm.org.uk

Do you think group consultations should be one of the core Lifestyle Medicine competencies? Do you see potential for Lifestyle Medicine Faculties in your Royal Colleges or Societies?
