On December 8th, Kyndryl employees gathered with young leaders at Girls Write Now headquarters in NYC for a Day of Impact. Professionals from across the Kyndryl Corporate Affairs team took time to discuss important questions around AI and technology with Gen Z thinkers from Girls Write Now. Participants responded to writing prompts such as, “What does community look like in the age of AI?” and "What scares and excites you about AI?”

This Mentor Professional Development session offers an overview of the legal, financial, and social barriers faced by undocumented and first-generation students and their families. The session also covers essential federal, state, and local protections for undocumented individuals, guidance on rights during encounters with immigration officers, and key resources available to support those impacted by detention. By the end of the workshop, attendees will be equipped with practical knowledge to better support undocumented and first-gen students and create more inclusive environments.

Literature to Life in partnership with Girls Write Now presents The Great Gatsby. Considered to be one of the greatest American novels, this story explores the glittering promises and devastating illusions of the American Dream. The LTL actor embodies multiple characters, conveying the lengths each will go to attain their desires. This event will feature a 60-minute solo stage adaptation, preceded by a 10-minute introduction to the show, and a discussion following the show.

Van Lier New Voices Fellowship

Each year, two Van Lier Fellows are selected for the Fellowship from a panel of former Van Lier alumni and industry professionals. Each receives a $35,000 living stipend, a $5,000 artistic fund to support career development, mentorship with a veteran playwright, workshops and sharings of their work, and participation in Rattlestick’s artistic communities and programming. The Van Lier Fellowship is flexible, artist-led, and responsive to the unique demands of the project at hand.

The New York Times

Local Investigations Fellowship

The Times is looking for reporters with a local story idea who want to investigate it under the editing guidance of Dean Baquet, The Times’s former executive editor, and a group of veteran investigative editors. Fellows will be based in the communities where they are reporting and make periodic trips to The Times’s offices for training and support. This one year program is for reporters in local newsrooms or freelancers.
