A word from StephI am writing this little reflection as I sit in bed, watching the (pouring) rain out the window for the fourth day in a row. My biggest reaction is to send my thoughts to the readers being impacted by this weather. The workplace can be absolutely anywhere – now more than ever – and for regional workplaces, whether that be the local butcher, a school, the local fire station or an agricultural service, the torrential rain has been affecting so many communities so I am sending my thoughts to you. [Disaster Mental Health Hub] I was able to fly to QLD earlier this month and be part of the Frontline Mental Health conference. It was such a great experience to cross a state border, and be in-person again. I was also really honoured to hear the many lived experiences from people in frontline work environments who shared their stories. I was again struck by the complexities the workplace can bring, and how the work environment can be such a pivotal place in influencing our mental health, both negatively and positively. In WayAhead news, as well as our upcoming April event, I am working towards having our June Forum be in person. If
you have a venue that you would like to donate please contact me. Our Anxiety Team went to Bega last week to host a Public Anxiety Forum. The event brought together experts and people with lived experience from the community to help raise awareness of this important topic.
