New OSHA Requirement for Employers on COVID-19 Notice

New guidance from the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requires employers to report a work-related COVID-19 employee death within eight hours of learning about it. It also said employers must report in-patient hospitalizations related to workplace COVID-19 exposure to OSHA if the hospitalization "occurs within twenty-four (24) hours of the work-related incident."

A Guide to Celebrating Halloween Safely

As New Jersey continues to respond to the ongoing transmission of COVID-19 in our communities, the state has drafted recommendations for ways to celebrate Halloween safely. Keep in mind that some communities may choose to cancel Halloween activities altogether, so check with local sources before making plans. The recommendations include minimizing interaction and contact with others who are not a part of their household, and underscores that costume masks are not an acceptable substitute for cloth or disposable masks.

NJ Announces $1M In Funding to Expand Small Business Exporting

The NJBAC has been awarded $1 million in federal funds from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) through the State Trade Expansion Program (STEP) for a program that supports small-business owners looking to export goods. The state’s successful New Jersey STEP (NJSTEP) program has been awarded funding for eight consecutive years. This year’s funding is the largest in the program’s history, ranking the amount as the second highest awarded to any state.

The New Jersey Hall of Fame's one-hour, virtual televised ceremony honors 29 of New Jersey’s most distinguished citizens as they are officially inducted into the New Jersey Hall of Fame, the highest civilian honor bestowed by our state. Mark your calendar for Sunday, October 18 at 7:00 PM.
