Contribute to the BC Climate Leadership Plan

British Columbians will have two opportunities over the next six months to participate in shaping B.C.’s new climate policies. The Province is currently developing a new Climate Leadership Plan to move forward with climate action commitments. Read more about the public consultation here.

Victoria Festival Helps Build Neighbourhood Resiliency

The first-ever Vic West Street Fest was a resounding success. BCHC was there with an interactive booth exploring what it means to be a resilient neighbourhood. We asked festival-goers to test their knowledge of local businesses and resilient neighbourhoods. See photos of the event.

Build Your Grant-writing and Project Planning Skills

The Community Action Initiative has partnered with the UBC School of Community and Regional Planning to offer training in grant-writing and project planning for community-based, non-profit agencies. The training takes place over 13 weeks. More information here. 

The Debrief: 2015 Public Health Summer School

BC Healthy Communities delivered two presentations at the 6th Annual Public Health Summer School organized by the Public Health Association of BC (PHABC). Executive Director Jodi Mucha presented at the Victoria site and Facilitator Kerri Klein presented in Vancouver on the rich topic of engagement.
