Rock Wall Brings Urban Wine Making to the East Bay

A unique concept, Rock Wall Wine Company is an urban winery that services the East Bay. Founded and operated by a small group of wine industry veterans, including consulting winemaker Kent Rosenblum and his daughter Shauna Rosenblum, Rock Wall Wine Company represents a new chapter in the East Bay winemaking scene. Ideally situated in Alameda, the winery boasts spectacular views of the San Francisco skyline, and more importantly, its locale allows the winemaking team to be regionally centralized - ensuring that whether the grapes are Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley, Zinfandel from Sonoma County, Petite Sirah from Contra Costa County, or Chardonnay from the Santa Lucia Highlands, the winemaking team is able to handle the fruit soon after it is picked. Housed in a converted 40,000 square-foot airplane hangar, the winery has been retrofitted with state-of-the-art winemaking equipment. Come join us on May 8 and try some of Rock Wall’s award winning-wines.

Alameda Point Seeks Developers

The City of Alameda has issued two Requests for Qualifications (RFQs) from qualified developers for a sixty-eight-acre residential mixed-use project and a commercial project on a maximum of eighty-two acres at the former Naval Air Station. With an iconic waterfront setting, stunning views, and close proximity to downtown San Francisco, Alameda Point presents one of the most significant waterfront development opportunities in the country. Alameda Point is an 878-acre site strategically located within the heart of the inner San Francisco Bay Area. Be amongst the first to hear a brief presentation on this exciting development opportunity. Submittals are due June 16, 2014.

PopUp Shops for Alameda Point Phase Zero

Have you ever brought a client to cargo container? Ever thought of it being a trendy, new type of retail? The City of Alameda has teamed up with PopUp ShopUp LLC to develop a retail center made of shipping containers called The Yards at Alameda. Using both literal and interpreted concepts of the shipyard, The Yards at Alameda blends the sale of fashion, home, personal, jewelry, accessories, food, and beverage products, and services with hospitality and collaborative maker spaces, and community and cultural events. The goal is to lease the spaces to brands, designers, makers, restaurantuers, bars or mixologists, and other retail groups to activate the Seaplane Lagoon area pursuant to the town center vision.
