Caledon Launches visitcaledon.ca to Promote Tourism

The Town of Caledon launched a new website, visitcaledon.ca, to promote tourism experiences in Caledon.

“Caledon has so much to offer,” said Mayor Allan Thompson, “we want to make it easier for visitors to discover the wonderful experiences available here.”

visitcaledon.ca offers a selection of THINGS TO DO, suggestions on WHERE TO EAT and WHERE TO STAY, as well as a calendar of EVENTS that users can contribute to.

Tourism Ambassador Program Workshops in Headwaters (Caledon & Dufferin)

The Central Counties Ambassador Program was developed to help further instill a culture of hospitality excellence so that visitors feel welcomed, informed and well-treated while visiting our regions.

The goal is to work with local business people, tourism industry partners and any other people who may be involved in welcoming visitors to the Games-related events to ensure that each and every person who visits the Headwaters area has a great experience and fond memories that will bring them back to the region again. The Ambassador Program is customized for each region and participants will receive a customized Service Action Plan upon completion of the half day workshop.

The Program is free, but online registration is required (click on link below). There will be 2 half-day sessions in each of the following: Orangeville - May 27, Bolton - June 8 and Caledon Village - June 10.

Formerly located in Mississauga and named Van-terior Outfitters Inc., the company has both changed its name and relocated to an existing 80,572 square foot building at 40 Simpson Road in Bolton. Adrian Steel manufactures and installs commercial van accessories and truck equipment including shelving, drawers, cabinets, partitions, ladder racks and other custom made products. Gendon Polymer Services Inc.

Town of Caledon is pleased to have Gendon Polymer Services Inc. consolidate and remain in Caledon. Gendon has combined its 2 manufacturing facilities and now has a new home for their 49 employees in an existing 61,000 square foot building at 38 Nixon Road in Bolton. This change provides more versatility on its production lines to better serve its customer's needs and space to expand as their business continues to grow.

Headwaters Re-Brands as Home of Rural Enjoyment, Authentic Living

May 8, 2015: The Ontario communities of Erin, Caledon, Dufferin County, Mono and Shelburne, collectively known as Headwaters, are inviting tourists and day-trippers to connect with the farm-fresh food, unspoiled nature and simple pleasures of the spectacularly beautiful region, now branded as the place "Where Ontario gets real."

The new identity was launched in front of 200 dignitaries, businesspeople and media at the Caledon Pan Am Equestrian Park, future site of the Equestrian events of the Toronto 2015 Pan Am Games. Named for being the source of some of Ontario's biggest rivers, Headwaters is also home to over 23,000 horses and is one of the most concentrated equestrian areas in Ontario.

Top 100 Event - Cuisine-Art - Coming in June

Festivals and Events Ontario (FEO) has named Cuisine-Art (an annual event featuring some of the region’s finest chefs, artists, food, and drink) as one of Ontario’s Top 100 events. Taking place at the Alton Mill Arts Centre, Cuisine-Art 2015  is scheduled for June 20 & 21.

Festivals and events of all kinds from every corner of Ontario were represented in the submissions – from community festivals to internationally recognized events. The 2015 Top 100 Awards were given out on Friday, March 6 during FEO’s Annual Conference.
