NIH Public Access: Managing Citations in NCBI-MyBibliography for Compliance
LOCATION: Hardin East Information Commons
DATE: July 10, 2018 (Tuesday)
TIME: Noon to 1:00 pm
PRESENTER: Oliva Smith, Division of Sponsored Programs
(No registration required)
Whether you are new to working with NIH progress reports, or have been involved with RPPRs (Research Performance Progress Reports) for years, bring your lunch to Hardin East Commons at noon on July 10 and join Oliva Smith of DSP for an hour-long workshop on using NCBI-MyBibliography to develop and maintain
bibliographies for NIH public access compliance.
You will learn how to add citations manually or via the PubMed search engine; how to associate NIH grants with NIH-funded publications; and what to do with publications that are exempt from NIH public access, such as invited reviews, conference papers and editorials.
In addition, we will discuss procedures for uploading the manuscripts of NIH-funded papers into the NIHMS-PMC system, where they are processed to appear in PubMed Central PMC (NIH’s full-text journal article repository) and assigned the PMCID (the ID required on citations to indicate compliance with NIH regulations).
